Smashing Success: Vega Wallops 3 HR Saturday, May 22nd , 2021 Andres Vega was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the 16-12 Whitby Bats triumph at Spinners Ballpark. The 20-year-old put on a show for fans, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands and powering the Bats past the Saint Pierre and Miquelon Pirates. "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight," Vega told BNN reporters after the game. "I can't wait until next game. I really feel good at the plate." The third baseman went 3-for-5, rung up 10 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. Andres Vega flied out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Kyle DeVries in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Dan Martin in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jose Navarro in the 8th. In his 2021 season totals, Vega has 23 home runs, .301 BA, .382 OBP, 47 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
