Brenner Parks 3 HR in the Seats Monday, May 10th , 2021 It's a rare event when a player hits three homers in a game and rarer still when he does it and loses. It happened at Field of the Sunchasers, as Bobby Brenner of the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers unloaded three times against the Haviland Thrashers but was still bumped off, 12-5, by the Thrashers. "We were lucky to win today," said Haviland skipper Matt Conners. "You can't give up that many home runs and expect to win on a regular basis." For the game, the Sunrise Manor catcher had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times, and drove in 3. Brenner spoke to the writers in the postgame press room with mixed feelings, saying he was sad to lose but happy to be seeing the ball well. "I was just trying to swing early and often to give myself a chance," he said. "I let the pitcher supply all the power and try to figure out how to get the bat on the ball." Bobby Brenner hit a solo-shot off Chris Schreurs in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Schreurs in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Kevin Irons in the 8th. Brenner is currently batting .276 with 13 home runs and 22 RBIs. |
