League Rules McKinley Out 2 Games Monday, May 9th , 2022 The suspension of catcher Earl McKinley did not sit well with the Quebec Aces. Both McKinley and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 2-game suspension issued today by league officials. McKinley was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Nashville Lasers yesterday at Lasers Ballpark. McKinley was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me." His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull." McKinley did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him. This season, McKinley is swinging the bat at a .176 rate with 9 hits in 51 at-bats. To date he has hit no home runs, scored no runs and driven in 3. |
