Nationals Get One-Run Win at Riverside
|
The Jacksonville Nationals turned back the Riverside Wolverines, 6-5, at Wolverines Ballpark. Bobby Medina, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Eric Grace, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 20th save. Jacksonville is now 77-58, while Riverside is 88-47.
With Jacksonville leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Medina hit a run-scoring single off Riverside hurler Jonathan Miron. It was the 92nd hit of the season for Medina and put his team ahead, 6-4.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Jacksonville manager Zack Glomski.
