A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Haviland Thrashers and Ft. Wayne Earthquakes.

Haviland Thrashers starter Kevin Irons was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes, 5-1. At 71-64, the Thrashers find themselves in third place in the Southern Conference East Division.

The Earthquakes had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Thrashers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 18-year old first baseman Nate Sheridan came to the plate. Sheridan hit a 3-run home run on a 1-0 fastball from Ft. Wayne hurler Edwin Montez. It was Sheridan's 7th home run of the year.

"I thought we played a nice game," Sheridan told the Haviland Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
