Raptors Come Up Short at Corpus Christi, 2-1
|
The Corpus Christi Texans used a great performance from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown to beat the Picture Rocks Raptors, 2-1, at Whataburger Field. Earning his 6th save for Corpus Christi was Kevin McGaha. The second-place Texans bumped their record to 75-59.
Corpus Christi designated hitter Brian Phillips landed a blow when he belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. It was his 56th home run of the season. With it, the Texans took a 2-0 lead.
Corpus Christi manager Cory Schreck praised his team's "businesslike approach."
