Nosediving Imperials Lose, 9-7
|
Behind a fine performance from Marc Laur, the Riverside Wolverines knocked off the Chuluota Imperials, 9-7. Laur was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Wolverines. Baden Keevil, the winning pitcher, improved to 13-9. He pitched 6.2 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 1. Tabari Jamal al Din, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.
In the bottom of the sixth, Laur put his team in front with his 18th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came against Josh Paul, made it 7-3, Riverside.
"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Chuluota manager .
Chuluota is in the throes of a long losing streak, which is now 12 games.
