Flight Suffer One-Run Loss at Sunrise Manor

Behind an impressive start by Melvin Mendoza, Sunrise Manor beat San Bernardino, 3-2. In 7.1 innings, Mendoza surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. Despite the win, the Sunchasers have a lousy 44-84 record.
Rob Beall had a big solo home run for the Sunchasers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Sunrise Manor leading 2-1 and the bases empty, he got a fastball from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Victor Montoya and swatted a home run to center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Sunchasers ahead, 3-1.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Sunrise Manor manager Shawn Banks.
