A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Riverside Wolverines and Buckeye Local Panthers.
Riverside Wolverines starter Jorge Ospina turned in an exceptional performance against the Buckeye Local Panthers at Cincinnati Grounds, resulting in a Riverside win, 5-0. Ospina got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up no hits and walked 1 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from center fielder Mike Bolden. For the game, Bolden went 2-5 with a home run and a triple, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. In the top of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 49th home run of the season gave Riverside a 2-0 lead.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Bolden told the Riverside News.
Riverside improves to 71-56 with the win. They lead their division by 8½ games.
