Sunrise Manor Picks Up Another L
|
The Haviland Thrashers took on the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers at Field of the Sunchasers.
Haviland pitcher Alexis Garcia did his part in helping his team beat the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 7-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Garcia, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 1 run.
Haviland used a clutch at-bat from Gwang-oo Shroyer to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Thrashers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We did a lot of things right," said Shroyer.
The Sunchasers, now 54-71, have lost 6 straight.
