The Jacksonville Nationals met little resistance from the Chuluota Imperials, beating them, 16-3, at Nationals Park. Kenneth Bates led the way. He was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2 for Jacksonville. Jacksonville starter Tim Donaldson was credited with the win after throwing 89 pitches over 6.2 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. The 5th-place Imperials have lost 5 straight games.

The Nationals got a big hit from catcher Alex Jacinto. Facing Chuluota pitcher Roberto Morales in the bottom of the eighth, Jacinto pounded a bases-clearing double to right. His 10th double of the season put the Nationals ahead, 14-3.

"We lit up the scoreboard," said Jacksonville manager Zack Glomski.
