The Crystal Lake Killers and Sunrise Manor Sunchasers lit up the scoreboard.

The Crystal Lake Killers beat the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 21-8, at Killer Stadium. The Killers got a fine performance from catcher Patrick Burt, who belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 6. Willie Garcia notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 4 runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 9-1.

Crystal Lake first baseman Kyle Macrina contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 28th hit of the season and put the Killers ahead, 5-3.

In postgame comments to the Crystal Lake Daily News, Burt said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The first-place Killers, at 66-54, now lead their division by 2½ games.
