Sunchasers Pocket 3-1 Win Against Riverside
|
The Sunrise Manor Sunchasers got a magnificent effort from pitcher Asakichi Funaki, who kept Riverside hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Sunchasers win at Field of the Sunchasers. Sunrise Manor reliever Mario Rosales picked up the win to move to 2-3. Ryan Neely suffered the loss. Jose Pinedo earned the save, his 3rd in 8 tries.
The Sunchasers got a big at-bat from third baseman Jason Derieg. For the game, Derieg went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 16th double of the season gave Sunrise Manor a 3-1 lead.
"Every loss stings," said Riverside manager Matt Augustus. "This one is no exception."
The Sunchasers raised their record to 44-76.
