Thrashers Suffer One-Run Loss at Biloxi
|
Biloxi pitcher Chris Lowe did his part in helping his team defeat the Haviland Thrashers, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Lowe, now 5-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The third-place Jackpot have won 4 straight games.
The Jackpot got a big at-bat from shortstop Aarto Turkula. For the game, Turkula was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 25th home run of the season gave Biloxi a 2-0 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Lowe.
