At Wolverines Ballpark, the Riverside Wolverines and Haviland Thrashers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Haviland Thrashers cut down the Riverside Wolverines by the score of 7-0, with the largest share of the credit going to designated hitter Ben Shafer. Shafer was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Thrashers. The Thrashers bumped their record to 62-53 with this latest triumph.

In the top of the fourth of a scoreless game, Shafer hit a solo home run to put his team ahead.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Shafer said.
