Wolverines Trump Thrashers, 4-1

The Riverside Wolverines topped the Haviland Thrashers, 4-1, in Southern Conference action at Wolverines Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Riverside pitcher and Tombstone, Arizona, native Jake Fish. Fish yielded 1 run over 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 5, and struck out 8. His record improves to 12-7. Antonino Sauli earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
Joaquin Gomez chipped in a 3-run home run for Riverside in the bottom of the second. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Fish.
Riverside leads the Southern Conference West Division by 15½ games.
