The San Bernardino Flight got a sterling performance from catcher Steve Killingsworth, but the Haviland Thrashers still prevailed, 5-4. Killingsworth was 2 for 2 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. The third-place Thrashers bumped their record to 60-52.

Had Ben Shafer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Shafer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Thrashers.

"We squandered some opportunities," said San Bernardino manager Joe Mills.
