Ft. Wayne took on Crystal Lake in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Rick Hall, in particular, was fantastic. The Ft. Wayne right-hander helped his team snag the win, 1-0. The Earthquakes boast a remarkable 90-21 record.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jerry Konas in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a solo home run off 18-year old right-handed pitcher Brian Kyzar to win the game for Ft. Wayne. The home crowd went nuts.

"Rick's a gamer," said Ft. Wayne manager Du-sung Moon. "Glad he's on our side."
