Nationals Notch 7-5 Win Versus Earthquakes
The game between Jacksonville and Ft. Wayne is in the books, despite a little rain.

No one was more impactful than Steve Bloomquist in the 7-5 Jacksonville win over Ft. Wayne. Bloomquist was 4-5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 runs. Matt Lavender collected save number 13.

The Earthquakes had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Nationals going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher John Bresette came to the plate. Bresette hit a 2-run home run on a 1-1 fastball from Ft. Wayne hurler Cody Fields. It was Bresette's 29th home run of the year.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Bresette told the Jacksonville Citizen.

With the win, the Nationals have a record of 78-35.
