The Haviland Thrashers bested the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 5-1, at Field of the Sunchasers. Ruben Cabriales was one of the standouts. He went 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks. Keith Jong snagged the win in relief. In 2.1 innings, the right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits. He's now 3-10 on the season. The losses continue to mount for Sunrise Manor, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
The Thrashers benefited from an error in the top of the first inning. Haviland was leading 1-0 when Danny Cruz hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Haviland in front, 3-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Haviland manager Edgar Hernandez.
