Nationals Reel Off Another Win
|
Tommy Johnson, who is tied for 8th in the SC in bases on balls with 49, led Jacksonville to a triumph over Crystal Lake. The final score was 8-4. The left fielder went 3 for 4, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He scored 2 runs and added 2 RBI. Picking up his 2nd save was 18-year old right-handed pitcher Eric Grace. Jacksonville, now 84-26, has won 19 straight games.
Jacksonville used a big swing from Chris Tomlinson to get the win. The designated hitter walloped a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Nationals up, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it changed the outcome.
"Winning never gets old," said Nationals manager Zack Glomski.
