The first-place Crystal Lake Killers picked up another win.

Crystal Lake pitcher Willie Garcia did his part in helping his team beat the Riverside Wolverines, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. The winner was Garcia. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Jorge Ospina. Mike DeWitt was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 10 of 12 save opportunities.

The Killers got a big at-bat from center fielder Phil Galvin. For the game, Galvin went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Crystal Lake a 3-2 lead.

Galvin called the win "a team effort."
