Griffins Topple Flight with Late Rally
Despite a fine performance by center fielder Jose Barrera, the San Bernardino Flight lost to the San Antonio Griffins, 8-7. Barrera went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. San Antonio reliever Roberto Mendoza picked up the win to move to 5-2. Zaijiro Watanabe suffered the loss. Jim Unknown was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

San Antonio relied on the bat of David Torres to get the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Griffins ahead, 7-6. For the game, Torres had 2 doubles and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
