The Haviland Thrashers got production up and down the lineup while beating the Crystal Lake Killers, 19-1. One standout was third baseman Leo Mendez. Mendez was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 5. Bill Samples got the win, improving to 6-1. He held the Killers to 1 run on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 2. The Thrashers go to 60-42, putting them second in the Southern Conference East Division.

Making an impact for the home team was Omar Gatica. In the bottom of the third, the 20-year old first baseman had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 2-0, Thrashers.
