Thrashers Get Past Biloxi, 4-3
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Haviland Thrashers and Biloxi Jackpot.
The 4-3 Haviland win over Biloxi was due in large part to Ben Shafer. The Thrashers designated hitter was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. The winner was Jesse Eves in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Jim Unknown took the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Shafer hit a slider from Jim Unknown for a solo home run. The Thrashers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Great to get the crowd on its feet," Shafer said.
Haviland has now won 3 straight, while the Jackpot have lost 3 in a row.
