5 Straight Wins for Wolverines

Tulsa got a big-time effort from pitcher Jim Unknown, but it wasn't enough to keep the Riverside Wolverines from winning the game, 6-4. Unknown threw 8.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Dermot Howe picked up the save for Riverside, his 6th of the year. Riverside is now 52-49, while Tulsa is 32-69.
David Gonzalez came through with a big-time hit for Riverside. The pinch hitter smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Riverside manager Matt Augustus.
