Nationals Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
In a low-scoring affair between Jacksonville Nationals and the San Bernardino Flight, pitcher Jose Chacon was the difference-maker. The Jacksonville right-hander handcuffed the opposition, to help his team pocket a 3-1 win. The winner was Hector Berrios in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Jim Unknown took the loss. The second-place Nationals have won 8 straight games.
John Sadler had a direct impact on the outcome. Sadler contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Jacksonville up, 2-1.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said San Bernardino manager Joe Mills.
