A 3-RBI performance from Ashton McSparin helped the Haviland Thrashers beat the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers, 5-4. Kevin Irons, the winning pitcher, improved to 4-4. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 4 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 4. John Decker was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.

McSparin had a timely hit for Haviland in the top of the sixth. With Haviland trailing 4-2, he turned a 3-1 splitter into a 3-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Haviland.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Sunrise Manor manager Shawn Banks.

The Thrashers sit in third place in the Southern Conference East Division with a record of 57-44.
