The Chuluota Imperials took Jose Escobedo's best shot and still were able to collect a win at Wolverines Ballpark. The final score had Chuluota getting past the Wolverines, 3-1, in 10 innings. Escobedo over 8.1 innings allowed 1 run on 10 hits, while striking out 10. David Sanko picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Victor Alatorre suffered the loss. The Imperials win now puts them at 62-35.
Chuluota needed the clutch hitting of Steve Hicks to notch the win. The center fielder hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Imperials on top, 2-1. For the game, Hicks had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Hicks.
