Wetmore Powers Panthers Offense
|
The Buckeye Local Panthers topped the San Bernardino Flight, 7-3, with youngster Tim Wetmore playing a key role. Wetmore went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Panthers in the win. Jonas Hernandez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Oscar Garcia suffered the loss. The Panthers win now puts them at 29-69.
Wetmore made an early impact for Buckeye Local when he stroked his 13th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which came in the bottom of the third, put the Panthers on top, 5-0.
"Our offense was purring," said Buckeye Local manager Tyler Byrd. "Like a well-oiled machine."
