The first-place Ft. Wayne Earthquakes took on the Riverside Wolverines in front of a spirited crowd.

The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes captured an easy win, 16-4, over the Riverside Wolverines at Earthquakes Stadium. Nick Cordova led the offensive barrage, going 4-for-5 for Ft. Wayne. The first-place Earthquakes have won 5 straight games.

Gary O'Connell had a big bases-clearing triple for the Earthquakes in the bottom of the second inning. With Ft. Wayne leading 3-1 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 18-year old left-handed pitcher Dushan Blasevic and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Earthquakes ahead, 6-1.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Cordova.
