The Chuluota Imperials withstood an impressive performance by Ft. Wayne designated hitter Chris Pinson to defeat the Earthquakes, 2-1, at Imperials Ballpark. Pinson went 2-4 with a home run. Danny de Anda claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record stands at 4-0. The win elevated the Imperials to 61-34.

Hisamichi Matsumoto helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Imperials.

"Both teams played hard," said Chuluota manager Larry Voltaire.
