Dawson, Earthquakes March to 6-2 Victory
|
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes topped the Riverside Wolverines, 6-2, with youngster Justin Dawson playing a key role. Dawson was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Earthquakes in the win. The first-place Earthquakes, at 71-21, lead the Southern Conference East Division by 16½ games.
Dawson had a key at-bat for Ft. Wayne in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 47th home run of the season and gave Ft. Wayne an early 2-0 lead.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Matt Augustus.
