Bailey Delivers Walk-Off Win for Earthquakes
|
Though he had a terrific game, Erik Murphy could not prevent his team, the Buckeye Local Panthers, from absorbing a loss. Ft. Wayne won the game, 3-2. Murphy was 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Ft. Wayne reliever Jared Martinez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jonas Hernandez absorbed the loss. The Earthquakes sport a record of 75-16.
Erik Bailey was the walk-off hero for Ft. Wayne. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Earthquakes designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Buckeye Local manager Tyler Byrd said, following the tough loss.
