Higgins Hits 2 home runs in Nationals Win
Jacksonville second baseman Matt Higgins contributed significantly to his team's 8-4 win over the San Bernardino Flight. Higgins, who is tied for 4th in the SC in doubles with 38, went 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Nationals. The Nationals improved their record to 43-44 with the win over San Bernardino.

Kenneth Bates had a big 3-run home run for the Nationals in the bottom of the third inning. With Jacksonville leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Enrique Rodriguez and swatted a home run to left. It was his 12th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Nationals ahead, 5-1.

"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Higgins.
