Luke Lodge pitched well, but the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers still fell short, losing, 4-1, to the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes at Field of the Sunchasers. John Wicken got the win, improving to 1-1. He worked 5.2 innings, giving up 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. The Earthquakes, at 72-14, have a comfortable 23½-game lead in their division.

Ft. Wayne took the lead, 4-1, on Jeff Waterman's 25th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Sunrise Manor pitcher Gabe Thomas in the top of the ninth.

"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Sunrise Manor manager Shawn Banks. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
