Wolverines Deny Sunchasers, 3-2

The Riverside Wolverines eked out a 3-2 win versus the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers at Field of the Sunchasers. Nobody did more than pitcher Melvin Flores. He was terrific. Flores, now 3-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 5, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Riverside currently is in second place in the Southern Conference West Division at 40-41.
Riverside used the hitting of Edgar Ramos to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Wolverines on top, 3-0. For the game, Ramos had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Riverside manager Matt Augustus.
