6-for-7 Game for Lane
|
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 6 hits in a day.
Jim Lane is one of those rare few, as he went 6-for-7 against the San Antonio Griffins at Griffins Field. The monster effort from the 18-year-old second baseman helped the Crystal Lake Killers get the win, 19-9.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Griffins manager James Beatty. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Jim Lane grounded out in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Ricky Sanchez in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th, singled in the 9th and singled in the 9th.
This year, Lane is batting .576 with 4 home runs. He has scored 16 runs and driven in 10.
