Valenta Slugs Thrashers to 6-5 Win
The timely hitting of Bryan Valenta helped the Haviland Thrashers down the Chuluota Imperials, 6-5. Valenta belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Thrashers. Haviland pitcher Tony Magallon got the win, upping his record to 2-1. Jake Sheppard got the loss. The Thrashers have an impressive 48-28 record.

Valenta had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 2-0 cutter from Jake Sheppard, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Thrashers a 5-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Valenta.

"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Bill Mason.
