Earthquakes Trounce Sunchasers, 11-3
The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes handed the Sunrise Manor Sunchasers a sound defeat, 11-3, at Field of the Sunchasers. Jose Valdez, who is tied for 9th in the SC in extra base hits with 35, was a main contributor to the win. He went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for Ft. Wayne. The Earthquakes boast a remarkable 62-12 record.

The Earthquakes got an important contribution from third baseman Francisco Mendez, who in the top of the ninth hit a 1-1 fastball to right for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Earthquakes ahead, 11-3.

"It was a good team win. Everybody threw something in," Valdez told the Ft. Wayne Observer.
