The Jacksonville Nationals powered past the Buckeye Local Panthers, 11-8, at Cincinnati Grounds. Matt Higgins went 2 for 5 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Emmett Rogers closed out the game, earning his 3rd save. The second-place Nationals have won 5 consecutive games.

The Nationals benefited from a costly error in the top of the third. With Bobby McFarland at bat and Jacksonville leading 2-1, the Buckeye Local miscue allowed Jacksonville to plate 1 and take the lead, 3-1.

"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Nationals manager Zack Glomski, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
