The Ft. Wayne Earthquakes earned a close win over the Chuluota Imperials, thanks in part to Willie Escalera. The Ft. Wayne right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the SC with a 3.57 ERA, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The first-place Earthquakes are now 57-16, the Imperials 24-49.

Ft. Wayne took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Edgardo Perez stroked a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Earthquakes.

Escalera attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
