Haviland catcher Jason Murphy had a good game, even if his team did not. The Thrashers dropped a 6-4 decision to Crystal Lake at Killer Stadium. Murphy was 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. Crystal Lake reliever Cristovão Dray was the winner. His record is now 2-4. Jon Maddock took the loss. Mike DeWitt was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.

The Thrashers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Killers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 19-year old right fielder Eric Wilson came to the plate. Wilson hit a 3-run home run on a 1-1 fastball from Haviland hurler Tony Martinez. It was Wilson's 1st home run of the year.

"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Crystal Lake manager Steve Warzecha.

The Killers lead the Southern Conference West Division by 8½ games.
