Fites Pops Two Homers in 4-3 Win for San Bernardino
|
The San Bernardino Flight handed the Ft. Wayne Earthquakes a 4-3 defeat at Earthquakes Stadium. Left Fielder Steve Fites starred for San Bernardino. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Oliver Murga was the winner. Over 8 innings, he yielded 3 runs on 5 hits, with 4 walks and 3 strikeouts. Jim Unknown picked up his 1st save of the season.
In the first inning, Fites had a 3-run home run for San Bernardino. It was his 26th home run of the season and put the Flight on top, 3-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Fites said.
The win makes San Bernardino 33-37.
