Victory Over Thrashers Takes Ft. Wayne to 60-10
|
The first-place Ft. Wayne Earthquakes picked up another win.
Ft. Wayne turned a good effort from starter Arturo Alvarado into a win over the Haviland Thrashers at Earthquakes Stadium. The Earthquakes won the game, 7-0. The Earthquakes, at 60-10, have now won 4 straight.
Colby Freese had a big 2-run home run for the Earthquakes in the bottom of the third inning. With Ft. Wayne leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Nick Turpen and swatted a home run to left. It was his 9th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Earthquakes ahead, 3-0.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Freese said.
