Freese Slugs Earthquakes to 11-6 Win
Ft. Wayne designated hitter Colby Freese had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Riverside Wolverines, 11-6. The win was credited to Jason Schneider in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Gavin Feeley took the loss. The win elevated the Earthquakes to 58-10.

The Wolverines had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Earthquakes going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old right fielder Dave Benavides came to the plate. Benavides hit a grand slam home run on a 1-0 cutter from Riverside hurler Andy Bennett. It was Benavides's 1st home run of the year.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Freese said. "We did a good job of that today."
