Corpus Christi Gets 6-3 Win
|
Corpus Christi Texans starter Jim Unknown found his groove in his team's 6-3 win over the San Bernardino Flight. Unknown, now 1-0, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The win gives the Texans a record of 22-46.
Luke Flynn had a big 3-run home run for the Texans in the top of the second inning. With Corpus Christi leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Oliver Murga, who is tied for 4th in the SC in holds with 6, and swatted a home run to center. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Texans ahead, 6-2.
After the game, Corpus Christi manager Cory Schreck applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
