Wolverines Ballpark was host to some action-packed drama.

The inspired effort of Tulsa third baseman Trent Lovoi was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Riverside Wolverines. Lovoi slugged 2 home runs. Dermot Howe claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-1.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ben Riffe in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Unknown to win the game for Riverside. The home crowd went nuts.

"Drama and more drama," said Wolverines manager Matt Augustus. "That's baseball at its finest."

The Wolverines are now 33-33, while the Captains fall to 19-47.
