Cincinnati Grounds was the site of a competitive game between the Corpus Christi Texans and Buckeye Local Panthers.

The Buckeye Local Panthers picked up a win at Cincinnati Grounds, dropping the Corpus Christi Texans, 4-2. Tony Contreras, who is tied for 5th in the SC with a 2.71 ERA, was the difference-maker. Contreras, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 2 walks. Mike Corrales, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save.

The Panthers got a big at-bat from shortstop Eddie de la Sancha. For the game, de la Sancha went 1-1 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Buckeye Local a 3-0 lead.

"Tony did a good job of managing their lineup," said Buckeye Local manager D.J. Whiteman.

Buckeye Local is now 29-36, while Corpus Christi is 33-32.
