Rain could not dampen the pregame excitement of Buckeye Local fans. But the subsequent loss, and a disappointing one at that, to the Texans had to.

Corpus Christi right fielder Danny Rankins was instrumental in helping the Texans triumph, 11-2, over the Buckeye Local Panthers. Rankins was 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The triumph puts Corpus Christi at 33-31 for the season.

With Corpus Christi leading 6-1 in the top of the fifth, Rankins came up to bat against Buckeye Local pitcher Brandon Fromel. Rankins hit a fastball to right for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season put the Texans on top, 10-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Rankins. "And not try to do too much."
