Sunchasers Beat Killers, 6-3
|
The Sunrise Manor Sunchasers defeated the Crystal Lake Killers, 6-3, at Field of the Sunchasers. Sunrise Manor was led by 19-year old first baseman Adam Blumberg, who went 1 for 1 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Danny Rodriguez picked up the win with 6.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 10. On the season, he is now 4-4. The 5th-place Sunchasers improved to 28-35.
Blumberg had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 fastball from Antonio Najera, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Sunchasers a 5-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Blumberg.
Blumberg attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
